TESTIMONIALS

“This gym is amazing. I was super reluctant to start learning Jiu Jitsu, but my husband bought me a Gi and a membership so I started going because I felt obligated. Literally after only a couple classes jiu jitsu is now the thing I look forward to most every day. The instructors are super knowledgeable and very friendly, and the people who go there to train become your second family pretty quick. As a woman training with a bunch of dudes, I’ve never once felt uncomfortable with any of them. They bring in guest instructors from all over the world and give fabulous seminars. Their fighters have won TONS of competitions. But what I love the most about Legacy is their commitment to bettering our community: they offered a free month to first responders; they offer a FREE women’s self defense class every Saturday; when we had the big earthquake in November and the gym on base was damaged, they let the military folks come train for free; during the government shutdown they opened their door to all furloughed federal workers at no cost. They do in-house competitions to raise money for charity and always have a donation bin for the food bank right at the front desk. Legacy is an incredible asset to this town. You get a free week to try out all their classes, so definitely give it a shot.”

“This place is awesome! My two boys have been coming here for two months and I am amazed with how much they have improved. Jordan and all of the other instructors are very patient and professional. They are great at motivating children so they give their all. Location is awesome as well. I have been waiting for a jiu jitsu place to open up close to JBER.”

“Home away from home. Everyone is very welcoming and no egos! I go here every time I am in anchorage. Great jiujitsu instructor and Muay Thai. The vibe is one of a kind.”

“I’ve been training about two years. This is hands down the BEST academy in Alaska. Jordan is unparalleled when it comes to his teachings. He hits ever single little detail that makes even a white belt deadly. At legacy it’s family!”

“I’m from Fairbanks and got another chance to stop in and roll during open mat over the weekend. Was welcomed by everyone and had some great rolls with a bunch of killers. Dan, Grant, and Dennis in particular were cool as hell, along with everyone else I forgot names of.
I gladly recommend Legacy to any of my Fairbanks people going to Anchorage to roll.”
